The Frank Montgomery Playing Field is located in Seaton Road and was gifted to the Parish Council by a resident, Mrs Montogomery, for the benefit of the parish and in particular its children.
The Frank Montgomery Playing Field is held in Trust by Wickhambreaux Parish Council which – through the Playing Field Committee – is responsible for the financing, upkeep and maintenance of the Field. The primary use of the land is as a children’s play area and new equipment has been installed on the Field in over 2016-2017 to upgrade the previous play equipment which was 30 years old.
The Playing Field is available for booking large events such as fundraising fetes, etc, but general use of the play equipment and the field do not require booking. If any groups wish to hold an organised event on the Playing Field, they need to complete a booking form and return this to the Parish Clerk. The Parish Council do not charge for use of the Playing Field.
The Playing Field Committee is a sub-committee of the Parish Council and its committee members are:
- Linda Lodge – Chairman
- Caroline Rees – Vice-Chairman and Treasurer
- Charlotte Stewart
- Marina Dunlop
- Lisa Crosbie
- Katherine Trotter
- Liz Stewart
- Fiona Dawson
- Brian Wilkinson
- David Sayner
